Ruth Alexander was born and raised in fairyland "District Six" Cape Town, South Africa and traveled to the U.S.A. in 1982 to study fashion design at  P.F.I. in San Francisco.   She graduated from P.F.I. and worked on her fashion designs in San Francisco before her children were born and sold clothing in the San Francisco Bay Area. 

She has traveled across the world (to many countries that was/are of interest to her) and her other passions besides travel are dance, singing & having fun with her family and friends.

Ruth was influenced by her beautiful mother, Barbara Alexander, a dressmaker/tailor in "District Six" Cape Town, and her tailoring business is now owned by my sister, Judy Muthen.   Ruth won her first sewing machine in kindergarten and attempted to make her dolls clothing besides her busy mom in their sewing studio. (Two left pictures above has Barbara's sewn dresses).

She is married to Daniel D'Souza, an IIT-KGP Engineer, originally from Mumbai, India in 1989 and together they raise their two children Alexandria (BioEngineering major) & Alexander D'Souza (5th grader) in Monte Sereno, Northern California - San Francisco Bay Area.  While raising their children they embarked on dance/music as a family and produce mini shows for the elderly/children for the past 15 years see:  www.adsouzadance.com
